The steps, in order
Find the MAC and message it to us first
On these boxes step one is ours, not yours: locate the MAC address, printed on the label under the box and also shown under Settings, then About device. On a MAG it opens 00:1A:79. Photograph the label and send the picture on WhatsApp rather than retyping it, since one wrong character is the top reason a box will not connect. Wait for us to confirm the portal is live before continuing.
MAG: enter the portal URL
After we confirm the portal is on, take a MAG to Settings, then System settings, then Servers, then Portals. Name Portal 1 anything, paste the portal address we sent word for word, save, and reboot the box. Nothing works before that reboot, so do not skip it. If the address is long, paste rather than type.
Formuler: use MyTVOnline
With a Formuler, open MyTVOnline 2 or 3, choose Add Portal, and give it a name and the portal address. Or select the Xtream Codes option and sign in with the standard server, username and password. Formuler will also run Android players like TiViMate if you prefer, and we can point you to the Android TV guide.
Load and organize favorites
After the restart the box loads the full line-up with its built-in guide. Use the colored buttons on the remote for favorites and the guide, and build a short favorites list now so the everyday view is not the whole catalog. This is what makes a dedicated box such a calm thing to use compared with a busy app.
Confirm the picture and build a favorites list
Once channels load, open a busy one and watch it for a minute; a dedicated box like this should hold rock steady, which is the whole reason people choose it. Use the colored remote buttons to mark favorites and open the guide, and hide the groups you never watch. A short, ordered list is what makes a MAG or Formuler such a calm thing to use night after night.
Let the box do what it was built for
A MAG or Formuler is happiest left on standby rather than fully powered down, so it wakes straight into the portal, and it prefers not to be loaded with extra apps. Use the remote guide and favorites instead of scrolling the full list. Treated this way, these boxes give the steadiest picture of anything in this section, which is exactly why serious viewers keep them.
Send a photo if it blocks or blanks
If the portal shows a blocked message or a blank screen after the restart, do not start over. Photograph the box label and the on-screen message and send both to us; nine times in ten it is the activation catching up or one character off in the MAC, and we resolve it from the picture within minutes rather than talking you through a reset you do not need.

When something is not right
The portal shows STB blocked or a blank screen
Either we have not activated the MAC yet, or a character slipped when it was sent. Photograph the label and send that image instead of retyping the MAC; setting it against what we activated clears it in almost every case within minutes, with nothing for you to reset.
The portal saved but no channels appear
A MAG must be restarted after the portal is entered, and skipping that restart is the usual reason the list stays empty. Restart the box from the menu. If it is still empty afterwards, confirm the portal address was pasted into Portal 1 exactly as we sent it, and send us a screenshot of the Servers screen if you are unsure.
Formuler will not add the portal
If MyTVOnline rejects the portal, try the Xtream Codes option instead, using the server, username and password from your message, which many people find simpler on Formuler. If the app itself looks out of date, updating MyTVOnline from the Formuler store often clears it. Send us the error screen if neither works.
The guide is empty although channels play
On these boxes the guide can lag behind the channel list on a first load, so give it time and, if the box offers an EPG refresh in its menu, trigger it. The guide travels with the portal we set, so there is nothing for you to paste. If it is still blank after a restart, send us a photo of the screen and we will check the portal.

MAG box or Firestick, which is better for IPTV?
For a main set in daily use, yes: a nicer remote, a snappier guide, and never a thing to sideload. It costs a fair bit more than a stick, so on a bedroom television a Firestick is better value and no one will notice the difference. Tell us how the set is used and we will give an honest steer before you spend.
Why do I have to send you the MAC address?
Because a MAG portal is tied to your box’s specific MAC, we switch it on at our end before the box can show anything; that is simply how these boxes work. Send us a clear photo of the label on WhatsApp and we activate it, usually within minutes. Formuler users who prefer the Xtream login can skip this entirely.
Can I move my portal to a new box?
Yes. Because the portal is tied to the box MAC, a new box means a new MAC, so send us the new one on WhatsApp and we re-point the portal to it, usually within minutes. Your plan and channels are unchanged; only the box on the end is different. Formuler users on the Xtream login can simply sign in on the new box.
How long does it take you to switch the portal on?
Usually just a few minutes once we have a clear photo of the MAC label; we enable the portal at our end and message you back. Out of hours it can take a little longer, but you will not be left guessing, and once we confirm, a quick reboot of the box is all it takes to bring the channels in.
