EPG Works in Televizo but Not TiviMate — Why and How to Fix It

If the programme guide fills in normally in Televizo but TiviMate shows No Information on the same account, the two apps are almost certainly not reading the EPG the same way. Televizo will often fetch the provider guide on its own, while TiviMate needs the EPG (XMLTV) URL set explicitly and the channels matched to their guide IDs. Nothing is wrong with your line; the guide just has to be pointed at TiviMate as well.

Most likely causes

  • Televizo auto-fetches the provider EPG, while TiviMate is still waiting for an EPG (XMLTV) URL you have not added
  • The playlist was added to TiviMate as a plain M3U, which does not always carry the guide, rather than as an Xtream Codes login
  • The two apps expect different EPG IDs, so TiviMate cannot match channels that Televizo matched automatically
  • TiviMate is still downloading the guide, or is on a different refresh schedule than Televizo
  • A time zone or clock difference shifts the listings out of the visible window in TiviMate

Fixes, in the order to try them

  1. Add the same EPG (XMLTV) URL to TiviMate. Find the guide URL your provider uses, which is often the same one Televizo pulls, and enter it in TiviMate under Settings, Playlists, your playlist, EPG URL. If you signed in to Televizo with an Xtream login, add the playlist to TiviMate the same way and it will usually fetch the guide too.

  2. Re-add the playlist as Xtream Codes in TiviMate. If you used a plain M3U link, remove it and add it again with Add playlist, Enter URL, using the Xtream server address, username and password. The Xtream login carries the guide data more reliably than a bare M3U.

  3. Refresh the guide in TiviMate. After setting the EPG URL, force an update from Settings, EPG, or reload the playlist, so TiviMate downloads the listings straight away instead of on its next scheduled pass.

  4. Match the channel EPG IDs. If most channels fill in but some stay blank, those are not matched to a guide ID. TiviMate matches most automatically; for the rest you can set the EPG source per channel, or ask your provider for the EPG ID of the channel.

  5. Check the time zone. Make sure the device date, time and time zone are correct and automatic, so the guide TiviMate downloads lines up with the current time instead of sitting off the edge of the visible window.

  6. Give it a few minutes. A large guide takes time to download on the first load. Leave TiviMate open on the guide after adding the EPG URL rather than reloading repeatedly.

EPG works in Televizo, not TiviMate FAQ

Why does the EPG work in Televizo but not TiviMate?

The apps read guide data differently. Televizo often fetches the provider EPG automatically, while TiviMate needs the EPG (XMLTV) URL added to the playlist and the channels matched to their guide IDs. Adding the same guide URL to TiviMate usually fills it in.

Is this a bug in TiviMate?

Not usually. It is more often a configuration difference: TiviMate simply has not been given the EPG URL, or the playlist was added as a plain M3U that does not carry the guide. Setting the XMLTV URL, or using the Xtream login, normally resolves it.

Where do I find the EPG URL for TiviMate?

Your provider supplies it, and it is frequently the same guide Televizo already uses. If you log in with Xtream Codes, TiviMate often builds the guide from that without a separate URL.

Do Televizo and TiviMate use the same EPG?

They can, but only if both point at the same source. Televizo may default to the provider guide while TiviMate waits for you to set it, which is why one can be full and the other empty on the same account.
